Building a business with no leads is like having a car with no fuel – it doesn’t go anywhere.

If you have been following me, you know that I always say ‘leads are the life and blood of your business. If you don’t have any leads you literally don’t have a business.’

There are many ways to generate leads – just depends on what strategy you prefer however, there are always 4 crucial components that are in place if you are trying to generate leads using YouTube or Google.

In this blog post I’m going to share with you the 4 components that have worked for me when generating FREE leads for YouTube.

Step 1

Find keywords that are focused around what you are trying to promote or offer. For example, if you are in the health and wellness niche, your keyword might be “how to lose weight in 30 days.”

When searching for keywords, look for long tail keywords as they are more specific and more targeted. Don’t be fooled that low competition keywords are pointless.

The human mind thinks a like. If you think it’s pointless, chances are other marketers will think so too and therefore they won’t use that keyword. This is your chance to capitalize on this keyword where others would avoid and get some leads first.

If you are new to the online world, I would recommend you stay away from high competition keywords for now and focus on low competition keywords until you get results.

Once you’re a bit more advanced – it is then that you can focus on higher competition keywords.

To do my keyword research, I use a free tool called the Google Keyword Planner Tool. It is very easy to use and is hands down the best FREE keyword tool out there – and Google owns it!

Another awesome tool that I use to find some keywords is called the Keyword Shitter. I use this to help get ideas with keywords in my niche. Once I’m happy with my keywords, I then plug the keywords that I like into the Google Keyword Planner Tool and see if it gets any searches.

Make sure you keyword is getting searches in the Google Keyword Planner Tool otherwise you won’t generate any leads.

Step 2

Create content around your chosen keyword and provide solutions to people’s pain and struggles. The more valuable content you provide that helps people solve their problems and pain, the better your chances are in generating leads.

For example if your keyword is based around “how to lose weight in 30 days”, make sure you show people how they can lose weight in 30 days. Provide strategies, tips and tricks that have worked not only for you, but for others as well.

Showing people what has worked for you is crucial as it provides proof and evidence that it works. Social proof will also help with conversions by getting testimonials of other people who have achieved results from your methods and strategies.

Step 3 

Have a call to action that provides an irresistible offer where they cannot refuse. Make sure that this offer is congruent with what you’re talking about in your content – VERY IMPORTANT!

A call to action might be  – “If you want to lose weight in 30 days and keep the weight off eating the foods that you like, I have a free video tutorial showing you how by clicking the link below.”

Everyone wants to lose weight, but being able to lose weight without giving up your favourite food choices and social life is an irresistible offer that you don’t want to give up.

The offer needs to be so enticing that it won’t let them sleep until they opt in and get this offer.

Step 4

Once you have this irresistible offer you need to link it to a capture page where they can exchange their personal details for this offer. This is how you generate a lead.

Having a capture page in place allows you to collect their personal details so that you can follow-up with them and eventually make a sale.

You’ve heard of the saying, the fortune is in the follow-up.

But in order for you to capture their personal details, you MUST have an irresistible offer that will entice people to opt into your capture page. Do a bit of reverse psychology.

When you create your irresistible offer, ask yourself this question, would I exchange my personal details for this offer? If you answered no, chances are others won’t.

If you don’t have a capture page in place, you will struggle to generate leads.

To create your capture pages you can use services like Lead Pages or Optimizepress, however I find them to be a bit techie and hard to navigate.

When I decided to come online, one thing that I noticed with myself and others was that we were using multiple platforms to get the job done.

I was using Optimizepress to create my capture pages, forums to get plugged into a community of like-minded people and membership sites that offer marketing strategies to help promote my content.

The annoying thing was paying for so many services – which was hard to keep tabs of and flicking from sites to site when putting this all together.

I was on a hunt for a platform that would have everything I need under one roof and after an extensive long search, I found it. A one stop shop that has everything you need to build your brand online and generate leads using the latest marketing strategies.
